Transitioned from Droid Turbo to Nexus 6 ... and now miss the macro photography capability of the Turbo. Could I replicate the Turbo camera capabilities on the Nexus 6?

If the lens on the turbo allowed for really up-close macro shots and the Nexus' doesn't, unless you add a different lens (they do sell lens attachments), you won't be able to. You can try with zooming in on pictures, but that's about the same thing as digitally zooming in while taking the picture.

You can buy macro lenses that fit just about every phone. The quality varies from a piece of plastic that's sort of a lens to high quality glass. So does the price.

The Turbo does macro without any lense attachment. I wonder if it is zooming. I can't find anything about that in the literature.

It is a neat feature IMO ... I am surprised they don't brag about it.
