"recommended for you"? widget N7 2013

this thing occupies a big size of the screen, and it doesn't seem to update itself unless i click on it. if i don't click on it, that certain item seems to be stuck.

is it actually useful? how do i delete it?

It's a widget. Long press on it and drag it to remove.

is it a useful widget? does it actually recommend anything good?

As per the advice it can be removed. It will make recommendations based on your play store activity. By default it encompasses the entire play store if you add the widget back in the future you can specify the areas of the store you are most interested in.

And yeah you need to tell the widget to progress to the next suggestion manually or indicate you are not interested in that item so it learns, it doesn't automatically scroll
