Google Pixel 2 Camera Shots! Show Us Your Pictures

I read through the review of the Note 9 here on AC. I've been very tempted to get one and it looks like the camera will be very good. But I'm having a hard time justifying the price and the compromises/extra features I won't user so I'll probably stick with the pixel 2.

Pixels don't shoot raw

Actually the Pixels do shoot RAW. All digital cameras shoot RAW. The Pixel software processes the native RAW to JPG and then throws away the RAW as do most digital cameras.

You just need to be using camera software that can save the RAW instead of throwing it away.

If you shoot using Adobe Lightroom for Android as I do, the software can save the Pixel's native RAW file so you can process it yourself using Lightroom on Android or you can additionally use Photoshop on a PC.

Let's not get too technical....of course it starts out in raw. You don't get raw out of the box is what I mean. I figure most people who buy the Pixel could care less about raw. It's great for those who have free time and need a hobby to keep busy.....thanks, I'll pass. The Pixel does such a good job I have no reason to change it. If I wanted to shoot raw I'd whip out one of DSLRs. Software processing has gotten so good on some DSLRs unless you're looking for some special effect there's little reason to modify your shots there either.

Anyway....now we are officially off topic.

Thanks Mike. I didn't understand what in photography is allowed on the forums in order to stay on topic. I thought perhaps there might be some here who might be interested in Adobe Lightroom for Android, available in the Google Play Store, that gives the Pixel camera the ability to work with RAW.

I think it's fair as long as we don't stray too long or too far, but this thread is mostly for posting Pixel series 2 photos. Nothing wrong with starting a thread on shooting raw with Pixel or using Lightroom with Pixel.

Hence the rich blue skies....
Yeah, it actually didn't storm this afternoon. It's rainy season here and rains just about every afternoon.

It's funny you mention the UK. It must be prime vacation time as half the people at the parks right now are from the UK it seems.

Hey I use Lightroom, but I don't shoot in raw cause I don't really use my phone for prints. I know the moment camera shoots raw also, have you tried that? I've played with that app a little bit. But ultimately, the Pixel 2 works perfect for social media marketing and such, which is what I do

Yep. School holidays. Though with wages so low and inflation on the up and a weak £ am surprised people can afford to vacation in the Parks. Must be getting into some serious debt. Lol. This time of year is CRAZY expensive.

They go back to school and university in September over here.

I live next door to an infant school so I enjoy the 6 weeks holiday. No kids and some peaceful afternoons. And we have had seriously hot weather this summer for the UK, so it has been truly wonderful!! 🤣

Oh and the cats love it too!!
