Selfie pic celebrating the wife's new job! I absolutely LOVE the cameras on this thing! (I would REALLY like to know why AC keeps rotating the selfies...)

to the guy tha tposted the night orion pic:that is beast.. I could never take pictures of the stars and the moon without over exposure from the lumia 1020.

Can someone take night shots of the moon btw? Wanna see how it looks. Can't pick my phone up until tomorrow. I wasn't here today to sign it. /:

Here's another one of my pup, however I actually took it on my Pixel 2 XL this time! Portrait mode FTW.

Here are some side by side comparisons of the V30 and Pixel, both shot in full auto with auto HDR. You can scroll left to right to see both photos of the same compositions - V30 on left, Pixel 2 XL on right.

You can see the Pixel consistently outperforms the V30 in full auto. But I am surprised by how close it is, as one can easily get he V30s shots processed to be even closer by processing raw (a slight uptick in contrast and mid tones would do wonders) instead of letting LG/auto do the processing. Case in point: Check the very last link where I post processed the V30s photo manually and see how it compares to the Pixel (more favorably than when left in full auto)

As is, when photos are viewed on the phone, the V30 holds its own quite well going against the class leader, considering it has a whole another dimension to its photography with its wide angle lens which isn't covered here.

V30's photo is post processed manually and MUCH nicer and compares well with Pixel:

Those are awesome. Since we weren't there for each shot (as far as you know :p), in your opinion which ones most closely replicate color?

Looking at the dining room image, the P2 has a much better exposure (HDR is much better in every shot IMO) but the color of the furniture appears more natural in the V30 shot. In the porch shot the grass is a deeper green and the siding appears bluish on the V30 and a tan hue in the P2. In the dog image the V30 grass is washed-out and a deeper green in the P2.

It's interesting how, in every image, colors appear different. I would expect exposures to be better on the P2 due to Google's software but I'm surprised that colors are also different. This is a pretty consistent theme in most, if not all, of the comparisons I've seem so far.
