Double text problems!! Help!!

Old thread or not, I've got the two sent texts going on and I'm on a Pixel 2XL and my carrier is Verizon. I live in a metro area and it's happening with or without emoticons. My phone also flickers for a nanosecond and puts a duplicate text up on my screen. It's driving me nuts! Did anyone actually find a fix for this?

Just to be clear, you are SEEING two sent TMs or the person is RECEIVING two TMs (or both)?
Does it happen with every contact or just a particular one?
Which messaging application are you using: the stock Android Messages application or Message+ from Verizon?

Double texts are a carrier issue usually between two different carriers but can also be the same. Carriers use a third party service to send and receive texts between different carriers. Call your carrier to get this fixed.

Welcome to Android Central! I've also been seeing a lot of complaints about Facebook Messenger causing duplicate texts. Are you using FB Messenger?
