It's just so stupid that their own native apps don't all support the dark theme right off the bat. Half-assed.

Not sure why it takes long for server side to roll out.

Nothing to do with the server, except that someone has to copy the latest file to the server. But "dark mode and no other change" probably goes to the bottom of the importance list. Even though Google uses OLED screens.

The person sending it out is sending it to the server - using a client. (An FTP program or a browser is a web client, not a server. "Server-side" refers to the code running in the server. [Do you think, that after 25 years of developing websites, I might know the difference?])
