I have the original pixel, still works great and I love it. At times I've had a couple of boot loop issues that have popped up (very few though)...How drastic a change would it be from pixel to iphone 10? I use google maps, google music, google assistant, and google home app. I do use a mac.

I'd prefer to keep pixel as my phone but I know eventually all good things must end and i wont be able to run certain apps anymore. The 3a seems like a good buy, but is it really a jump in speed. I know my pixel 1 probably still feels more of a better physical build right now.

Honestly, Android to iPhone, especially if you use mostly Google services, is not a big leap.

If you don't care about the app drawer and customization it's not a big leap, however the Pixel has a better camera unless you go with the iPhone 11.

That too. If you the same camera level as Pixel 1 on iPhone, you need to take it to 11, not X.

I would recommend the Pixel 3 if you are really invested in your Google apps. But since you use a Mac, you'd be okay to switch over to iOS since you can already navigate the Mac's OS.

Keep us posted on what you decide!

still doing research..wont rush into buying next phone. I'm enticed by the Iphone 11 but i've been with android phone forever. Wish I could use google assistant the exact same way as I do on my pixel. One advantage I'm seeing is Iphone supports phones for about 5 years compared to 3 for google.

I would keep your pixel until it dies, or 5G is more mainstream and affordable. I always pick up 1 to 2 year old flagships for chump change... and my pixel 1 was no exception.... it has a ton of life left, still runs like new, no issues ever, no loss in battery life, and since it's running Android 10 it'll run anything designed for Android for years to come. I won't be getting rid of it until 5G phones and service is more mainstream.... probably pixel 5 or 6 territory ;-)

So I want to chime in as I went from Android to iOS about 4 years ago that means I decided to cancel all of Google services. So after being on iOS for 4 years I decided to move back to Google and Android as I came across a pixel 3xl extremely cheap. Now migration back is horrible, apple locks down all of your passwords and makes the switch so hard it's sad. I am enjoying the pixel so far but not being able to cancel my iCloud account due to worry of missing something such as passwords or documents or notes.

Now my xs worked great took great pictures and battery was great but you have to use everything apple if you want iOS to work right. Now realizing how hard the transfer is makes me realize how locked down apple is.

I know both Google and apple have their pros and cons but the fact I had no choice with apple and my information kinda makes me think.

Probably shouldn't have canceled your Google services.

I made the switch from Moto Z2 Play to iPhone XR but kept using Google services (and a third-party password manager) which makes switching back and forth from my iPhone and my Moto Z4 realtively simple.

The only thing that doesn't work right is on the phone for me are non-Google links in text messages - I'd love to just open those in Chrome vs Safari, but having to open links via text message is rare.

The only thing that doesn't work smoothly for me for CarPlay is launching Google Play Music - workaround it just opening on the phone first. I chalk that up to Google deprecating Google Play Music in favor of YouTube Music.

Not rushing in to buying a new phone is a really good approach to take. How often do you upgrade? If you keep your phone for less than five years, then perhaps Google/Android is still the way to go.

Even without regular updates, a Pixel 3 or 4 will run just fine! But I definitely get what you're saying - that's a priority for me as well.

The Pixel 4a is coming out soon, and it's set to be really good. Perhaps keep a lookout for that one, as well?

Have you made a purchasing choice yet, OP? Keep us updated!

I agree I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else to just delete their accounts.

Op it's worth a shot but as said before if you don't like upgrading or don't care to iPhone is really the way togo for you in my eyes. You get a good phone that will last year's my finance is still using the iPhone 7+. For me personally I like having options on what phone I like the last 3 iPhones all look the same so why upgrade and they all work well.

Whether I'll go back to iOS or keep the pixel is a toss up right now. I'm loving the pixel but the switch has been a headache.

I say to the op give it a shot for the first 10 days or so if you don't like it return it.

If you use your phone except for some heavy gaming, I think the Pixel 3a XL should be a fine choice. My primary concern in a phone is the battery life, and the Pixel 3a XL's decent battery capacity, 1080p display and a modest, power efficient SD670, the 3a XL should offer about about 6+ hrs of screen on time.

I tend to keep phones until they start to have problems...still rocking my OG pixel. I may end up waiting to see the 4a or even the 5 (which may be $$$$ if its 5g). I missed the costco $299 pixel 4 deal as no store had it in stock...
