My wife and I have been averaging using 1 GB per month total so far in the few months we've been on Fi. This last Saturday though I somehow used 2 GB in one day! I have no idea how. I went out to a restaurant that night, opened Facebook and Instagram maybe a couple times, took a pic of the group and texted it to people, and that's about it. Oh, I ordered a Lyft to get home. Is there any way to figure out how all that data got used that day?

Thanks for your help. I'm kind of an Android newbie. So it was weather.com. 1.85 GB in one day from friggin' weather.com. I did look at the weather for a couple locations probably for a total of 5-10-min. But it must continually do something in the background once you've opened it? Or maybe some embedded video played that I didn't notice? I like the app so won't delete it but am going to use it with a HUGE dose of caution from now on.

You can go to settings within the app and stop background activity. That should stop the thing syncing constantly. You open the app, tap on mobile data. That will open the data menu for the app. See screenshot. You kill background data there.
Then go back to app and tap on battery usage. Kill background usage there too... See screenshot.
I systematically go through all my apps and kill all background stuff on everything!
