Is there a way to prevent it from locking?

I'm new to android... when my blackberry's display went off, it wouldn't lock until about 10minutes later. so I could easily pick it up and get right back into things. It's a little annoying getting messages as soon as the screen turns off and having to unlock it every time. Is there a way to set it so it doesn't lock for a few minutes? Thanks

I'm assuming by "unlocking" you mean dragging the circle up... Drag the icon for the message into the circle to quick open it.

Yeah but I mean like. Not having to do the circle drag at all. Just hit the button and it pops up where I left off.

Nah, It has a widget for changing it quickly. I'd only have it unlocked when I have it next to me while messaging people
