What is lowest I can safely go on space?

I have seen some posts about space getting limited and it got me to thinking: what is the lowest I should safely allow my Evo to go? At one point I was down to 85 MB but have managed to get it back up to 140.

Are you talking about RAM or internal memory?

I typically try to stay above 100mb myself. I don't know if there is a hard and fast "danger line."

The EVO won't let you download anything once you are at 41-42 MB. Before I rooted, I was constantly moving apps 2 SD and deleting apps because I was always close to this amount.

i love my EVO but they really scrimped on the internal RAM. it should have been double. or at least let me delete the bloatware.

Thanks to all! You were a big help. Next step I guess is to decide on rooting my Evo so I can get rid of all the apps I will never use in a million years.
