Before I attempt rooting my phone I want to know if there is a way to put it back to stock. I see many tutorials on the original EVO, anything on the Shift?

If you mean unroot it you would just have to run the ruu and it would return to stock, and seemed like it was never touched

Will the ruu just remove the root access or revert everything you did/downloaded/etc with root access as well? Just for future reference.

Put it like this if u run the ruu when the phone is back on it would seem like you just got it out of the box everything gone

i just tried this and i keep getting an error everytime i try to run the RUU. i have htc sync and i have also rebooted both my device and my pc numerous times. idk what the problem is

Over on XDA there is a flash able return to stock zip that was made. It gets the PC out of the equation. I can't read that error from my phone gets to blurry when I zoom in. Question do you have USB debug turned on?

i do have USB de-bug, and i did find that .zip file, and it saved my day. hooray! now my new problem is an adb error which goes along with the one click root thinggy.
