ok. unmounted the card. reformatted it through the phone itself. debugging mode activated. now i get the same thing as mig106:

failed to copy 'recovery-RA-heroc-v1.5.2.img' to '/sdcard/recovery-RA-heroc-v1.5.2.img': Permission denied

and for some reason I can't get into su mode because terminal does not accept my password. It should be the same as my user admin password, right?

:( grr

Did you unmount it from the phone as well? Pull down the notifications and select the usb one and it should ask you to unmount.

rufflez,

You are the man. Easy to follow steps and right to the point.

Just rooted yesterday to 2.1 and is great, I even find it running smoother.

I tried to flash my phone from the Sprint Exploit .zip, and it keeps saying that it failed verification. Am I flashing the wrong file or what?

it can take a while. If you see the sprint logo more than once, then go back into the recovery on the phone

with phone off:
Hold Home and hit power

wipe the data and dalvik again

then reflash the ROM

possibly a bad ROM download.
redownload the ROM or try another one
boot into recovery
wipe data/dalvik/sd:ext if you have apps to sd
back to main menu
enable USB-MS toggle
drag and drop new/redownloaded rom
reflash ROM
reboot

I has never made it to the recovery screen. After i type reboot recovery in terminal my phone restarts the HTC screen comes on and thats it until i take the battery out.
