HTC M7 updated to 4.4.2, now can't work WITHOUT wifi

Hi everyone.

I seem to be having the opposite problem of everyone else. My phone recently updated to 4.4.2, which I should have looked online before updating. It can connect to Wi-Fi just like normal, but my phone cannot operate when I'm not connected to WiFi. Regardless of where I am if I'm not on WiFi I can't use Google maps, check my email etc. It's not lagging, the browser will actually say the pay can't load because there isn't a connection and I assume maps is doing the same thing. Whats the point of having a smartphone if I can't use the map to navigate or check my email? Anyone know of anyway to fix it besides a factory reset? I'd like to save that for a last resort.

First check in Settings/Connections/More networks/Mobile data, that you don't have it turned off.

If that's okay, check your APN settings against those your carrier lists (or bring the phone into the carrier). The phone connects to the internet over mobile data via the APN settings.
