Re: Mystery Symbol?

Yes, on Sprint. No idea Spark was even active in Houston. Will need to learn more.

It might not be, from my understanding that spinning logo is there regardless of whether you're actually connected to spark or not.

re:

Every new HTC phone someone asks what the NFC logo is. It's ugly, takes up space and they make it too prominent.

Re: Mystery Symbol?

Isn't there a list with all icons and what they mean?
Can't find it in the manual.
Tried Google but couldn't find it anywhere.

re:

I've disabled NFC. Not because of the logo, but because I never use it.

Why use the power and resources for something I never use?

re:

It looks like beats logo when playing music but mine doesn't spin. The Spark logo spins all the time. Connection or not.

re:

Why can't we make this symbol go away? NFC stands for??? If Near Field Communication is what it stands for, what the hell is NFC doing for my phone?

Is this like HTC Blink that I can not delete off my phone. I don't care for the Blink app and I was able to make it go away but it is sleeping in the back round.

OK, I also turned it off but symbol still exists. This is BS

NFC is for things like tap n pay / google wallet, etc. The symbol should disappear if you turn it off in the "settings - more - NFC" area. It's a feature of the phone.

fyi, if you dont like the HTC blinkfeed, download another launcher. Blinkfeed is part of Sense.

The NFC symbol is a standardized symbol across all platforms like bluetooth and WIFI. You get the same symbol on Samsungs, Motos, etc.

Re: Mystery Symbol?

It's the NFC symbol. It goes away if you turn off NFC.

What's that symbol? (NFC edition) | Android Central
