Optimus V internal application memory

Hey there everyone! Well .. I just have to say that i'm curious as to how the internal partition(s) of the Optimus V function. I seem to be running scarce on internal memory (around 30-40 MB). I have every other app of considerable size, on the external sd card (8 GB). Google maps takes up a generous amount of space and I can't relocate it externaly.. with my unrooted phone of course. I just want to know how i could maximize my internal memory. Thanks to all!

You can try clearing the cache on some of your apps. That can free up 5-10MB on some apps, especially the browser and Maps.
