Welcome to the forums. Where are you seeing it? In applications?

One of the minor changes in 4.4 is that the overflow (3 dot) menu shows whether or not you have a hardware menu button and the hardware menu button will always open the overflow menu for an app.

Do you want to hide it from your navbar or from the app itself?

The former you can do it with slim roms, I'm not sure its possible to remove it from apps.

The apps are Dependant on the developer. Since the majority of devices have soft keys, this is going to continue to be the case.

Nope. As I said earlier, this was a change in 4.4. It used to be that Android would only display the 3 dot menu in app on phones without a physical menu button. As of 4.4, it will show whether or not you have a menu button. If you don't see it in an app, it is because the developer doesn't use the 3 dot menu at all. If it is there in an app, you will now see it.

Either way, the menu key should still work, you just have 2 different methods of doing the same thing.

:/ I dont like its. Maybe rom developers remove its? Cyanogenmod, paranoidandroid or others..
