5.0.2 update, photo editor changed

My phone was recently updated to Android 5.0.2 and have just noticed my photo editor has completely changed. Rather than be able to adjust colours, brightness etc I am only able to add text and other useless things.
Is there a way I can revert back to the previous version of photo editor?

Unfortunately you can't. The upside is that there are many other alternatives in the Play Store that offer the type of editing you are looking for. Snapseed is one good alternative that you can take a look at and see if it suits your needs.
