Why is Android OS eating all my data?

Been having an ongoing issue with android OS that has been getting worse over the last month or 2.

My data limit is 3gb and renews on the 19th of each month, and in 2 weeks Android OS has used over 1gb. It's on track to hit 2gb usage in a month and I cannot understand why.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this? I've tried DataEye but it hasn't helped, it actually seems to have exacerbated the problem.

Welcome to Android Central. You don't say which device you have, but the first thing to try is clearing the system cache. Also, is your OS version current for your device?
