I was looking to purchase the G2. I am really skeptical about third-party dealers but I heard the phone will be $50 at Best Buy starting this Sunday. Or, I can get it on VZW.com with the VZWDEAL code for 130.00 out the door. What would you guys recommend? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Thank you so much!

I've found the experience at Best Buy to be very good. I have also heard good things about their insurance.

Another positive is that they extend the return period to 30 days from 14.

I bought my Fascinate at Best Buy for free, and then the VZW store did a change out to the Droid Charge when software issues caused the Fascinate to be unusable as a phone. Using that as an example, I would say yes.

My main concern is that if I need a warranty replacement, will I still go through VZW?

From what I have read this week, there is open enrollment for the insurance that Verizon offers, so you can still get the phone from Best buy and get the insurance too. I love my G2, it is the best phone I have ever bought/

Hmm where did u hear about that bb price? If that's the case and the Nexus 5 isn't coming to big red then I'll have to jump on that.

I saw someone comment on Droid-Life about them having it in their ad for next week. I, myself have not seen that ad.

got it today for $56 after everything. Hoping that I do not have any software issues. I can still take it to VZW with manufacturers warranty replacement correct?

Yes.
That's a hell of a deal too!
Paid around $150 for mine with the verizon30 code but of course I had to get it the day it was released. :D
