LG G2 Screen looks like the old TV screen after hours

HELP!! I have an LG G2 phone that has been awesome since I got it over a year ago. I have had very few problems with it until recently. I have the emergency alerts turned on and one day I received one during a bad storm. My phone vibrated as it normally would and immediately after I had all of these crazy green and red lines bouncing through my screen. It within minutes covered the whole phone. The touchscreen still worked and I could touch certain apps and could make the phone function. Eventually throughout the day, I couldn't see anything on the phone, just vertical bouncing colored lines that remind me of what the old TVs did after programming hours. The touchscreen does still work but I can't see anything to know how to use it. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what happened and if there is a possible solution other than throwing it away?
