How to get rid of "other contacts" from Gmail

I just did a factory reset to try to fix my battery problems, and now my contacts contain all of the "other contacts" from Gmail, which I don't want. In my Contacts -> Settings -> Contacts to display, I chose my gmail account only. All of the "other contacts" are still showing. I think this is also affecting my contact sync with my car, as my most important contact didn't get synced to the car (maybe there's a limit). Either way, I have about 330 real contacts, and ~650 "other contacts".

No. I actually just went into Gmail on the pc, looked at, and then deleted them. all. re-synced, and I'm better now.
