Why is my LG G3 touch screen unresponsive?

touch screen lg g3

my lg g3 touchscreen became very unresponsive, (example: if i try to press a letter on the keyoard only after something like 12 touches it will work) after the last update all of this started, at the beginning it was only the top part of the screen and then it spread all over it.
do you think it's a hardware issue (digitizer?) or a factory reset can solve it?
i will realy appreciate if someone answers me.

I had that problem with mine, I thought there was a fault with my phone, fortunately it was something simple. I noticed there were smears on my screen when I tilted it at an angle. Body oils, sweat and things that I touched had transferred to the screen and limited the screen sensors ability to detect the touch of my finger. A simple wipe with a damp tissue solved the problem - hope yours is as simple as mine was.
