Its not often that I (or we as a general public consumer) have all that much to get excited about when it comes to cell phones. I guess out of habit and reluctance to change, I always went the Motorola Droid path. I had every incarnation from the original Droid, to Droid 2, 3, Global, 4 (what an awful choice) Razr Maxx, Maxx, and Turbo. All were pretty decent (well except the droid 4, which seemed to run out of battery life by about 10:30am AND no removable battery), but never offered me anything all that exciting. I hit my breaking point with the Turbo, which was amazing with battery life, but somehow Moto put a camera in that phone that even with 21 mp, I struggled to get anything captured with even the slightest movement. Hugely let down. "But its a phone, not a camera" i was chastised...while being a fair enough point, if it wasnt working for me personally, than it was not the phone for me either. I went back to my Moto Maxx simply to get usable pictures again.

Wanting a change, and with the G4 release date nothing but rumors, I gave the galaxy s6 a shot. Good phone, cool camera, but I swear you could watch the battery drain on that phone while reading a web article. Literally watch the life drain from the phone. So once again, wasnt the phone for me. Packaged her back up, and returned it.

Preordered the Verizon LG G4 and literally had it the next day. Right off the bat, something about the phone...just felt different, fun, and like it was an amazing change from the moto experience I was too scared to give up. The phone felt big, yet perfectly fits in my hand and pocket. Felt light but also sturdy. Not indestructible, but sturdy. It comes with an offer for an extra battery, which of course I sent in...but ill be honest...this baby charges so fast, and the battery handles itself so well for what I use the phone for, I highly doubt Ill even need to swap out the battery all that much, if ever, but knowing there is that option...its reassuring anyway. The operating system is easy to learn, intuitive, and so smooth!

The camera...yup...its as good as advertised. I am always going to laughingly look back at Motorola advertising the turbo as "a powerhouse 21 mp camera at the flick of your wrist, so you wont miss ANY of the action". I guess they forgot a footnote ..."unless any of the action entails the slightest movement or challenging lighting situation". I WANT to go out and take pictures again. I WANT to capture so many more things I wasnt able to before.

So if you have read this far, I thank you! Just really happy about this phone, and LG has a new phone customer for as long as they keep making phones this great! Its nice to not settle but to have a phone that does everything right that you want done.

Congrats!! LG had me at the original Optimus G, they've really stepped it up.

And i agree on the camera, this thing captures great moving (even kids) pics, i do get some blur but burst shot helps a lot with that

The more reviews from actual users I read, the more I can't wait for it to be released here. Must...have.

Great review thanks... I am dying to use my new G4. I have had my G4 for three or four days waiting on my current MetroPCS contract to expire before I have to switch to T-Mobile to use my G4 on June 4th. Since I left my wife on MetroPCS I fully expect to return there unless I see a reason why I should pay more for a lot less on T-Mobile than MetroPCS they own.

Great review! I love seeing people getting excited like this. And I'll agree with you on how the phone feels. I had the G3 before, which was nice. But they've really worked on the curve on the back and the way it tapers out to the edges. It seriously feels so good in one hand, or two for that matter.

This G4 has so many strong points that do outweigh the negatives it has.

So far i can safely say well done Lg for not being conformists in the premium battle.

Jamie, your enthusiasm reminded me how I felt last year when I purchased my G3 (first LG device) coming from a long line of Samsung devices. Glad you are enjoying your device! LG is doing good things for sure! Its nice to have other choices in the Android side of things!

Yeah, well I just got to play with it at best buy and compare to my g3.
The curve is sweet and the display is bright. The camera is able to bring in way more light and the detail is stupid good.
I ordered in black leather and quite excited to get it ....they thought Friday.

Congrats! I have a G3 as well and its been hard to let go because this G4 is that good!

All my current Androids are made by LG. Nexus 4, Nexus 5, G3, G4. All are very high quality devices. I believe that they may just know how to make phones. :)

Thank you guys for listening. Funny to get so excited about a phone, but wanted to give an outsider's view for anyone thinking about giving this phone a chance, or those anxiously awaiting it, it is worth it! There is just something really, really right about this. No phone is ever perfect, but coming from the moto experience, this is really amazing!

Completely agree LG did an amazing job with the G2 and it continues with the G4.

This is my first lg and I can't agree with you more! I've been using the Samsung Galaxy s3 for the past 3 years and before that I had the Droid x. Maybe I'm just on the phone too much but I thought the battery would hold up much better. I find myself talking selfies all day because it makes my skin look flawless!

I hope you're a female

Completely agree. This phone is amazing. LG has definitely won me over with this one. I have an S6 as well, and I think I may end up selling it and only keeping this. I've bounced all over the place with my phones this past year, but I really think I'll be able to hang onto the G4 for quite some time.
