Interesting. I have put my G6 in the water (shower, pool) and the first time it went in the water, I tried plugging it in to the charger and it said something like what you have stated. So I just shook the phone, blew air into the charging port with my mouth, and plugged it back in and it was fine charging right away. Took 10 seconds.

Sounds like a defect....It's the Phone itself probably. Because mine says the same thing. I can try different chargers and then it will all of a sudden charge. And then out of no where...MOISTURE detected. I'm done with LG more than likely after this Nevr experienced any issues with any of my other LG devices or even my S8.

Any debris in the charging port that is conductive enough and shorts the right contacts could be seen as water, even intermittently. I'd blow it out with compressed air or maybe gently use a thin plastic tool and make sure there's nothing in there. And make sure the business end of your charging cable is clean also.
