per the news this weekend, it looks like Google Assistant--previously available only on Pixel phones--will be available to a whole host of Android 6 and 7 phones starting this week.

And in fact, one of Google's close partners in implementing Assistant ongoing is LG.

Keep an eye out. It's basically Google Now on steroids. Still uses "OK, Google".

I'm glad it's an add on app so I don't have to uninstall or disable. I really don't need anything like that. But I understand how it can be appealing to most people.

OK thanks for the heads-up. I may give it a try... probably not something I use regularly though.

I use it on my moto 360 watch, which is kind of cool... from last night... "OK Google how big is a plankton?", "OK Google, how tall is the golden gate bridge?"

Part of me wonders though, how does google use this information? Is it (in reality) just another means by which they track our usage tendencies?
