I have "Pin media player" and "Show media recommendations", both are OFF. Switching "Pin media player" on does not make a difference. There is no "Show media on lock screen". Does this mean that my phone vendor insists that I see the media controls on the "lock" screen?

When I long-tap on the media control thingy it tells me that "the current media session cannot be hidden".

I have a Motorola moto g82 5G phone running Android 13. When the screen is locked, Audible, AntennaPod (podcast client) and other media players always display their controls (play, stop, skip etc.) on the lock screen, with the unfortunate effect that I accidentally stop, rewind, skip etc...

Hello, Never saw the bell icon. I found it now. I guess that will work. "Do not disturb" did disable all notifications and rings. But this should work. Thanks!

Thanks, that gave me a few options. Ultimately it didn't work. Apart from the media sounds (which I could modify) it also supressed displays of incoming calls and SMS. Turns out with this version of Android I have to lower the ring volume manually, there is no shortcut like "Silent Mode"...

Possibly. I am not sure when apps update. I didn't consider this possibility since it doesn't make sense to me that the system would reset permissions when updating an app. Permissions are not "settings", I thought. What good are permissions if they reset automatically?
