Are you going to use Allo and Duo?

I am so exasperated with Google's messaging strategy that I am seriously thinking about an iPhone, just for iMessage. Now that Hangouts has unmerged hangout and SMS and shows multiple threads for the same user, I see no point in putting up with its clunky interface.

    Issues with Hangouts/Messenger "unmerge"

Hangouts was supposed to be that app. It's clumsy (for example, when you started a new message, you have to choose among SMS, MMS, Hangouts & Video). But it worked - I liked how it even merged voice messages into the same threads. Now that it has unmerged hangouts from SMS, I agree with your...

You can also click on any contacts and click the merge arrow at the top right, if for any reason Google doesn't identify them as duplicates. Posted via the Android Central App

Contact Numbers Showing Instead of Names

Duplicates in Gmail contacts not a problem. Once they are in, open up Gmail contacts on a computer, the full sized website (this is not available on the mobile site). On the left side, you will see "find duplicates", then you can merge them. Posted via the Android Central App

Contact Numbers Showing Instead of Names

Have you gone into Google settings and confirmed that all the sync buttons are on? I don't think you're in factory reset land yet, but rebooting into recovery and clearing the cache that way is always worth a shot and you don't lose your data. Posted via the Android Central App

Is it just that handful of texts? Which texting app do you use? Have you checked it's settings to confirm that it's syncing? Posted via the Android Central App

Contact Numbers Showing Instead of Names

Try creating a new contact on the phone - see if there is a menu anywhere asking where you want to save the contact - its hard to explain, but it really sounds like, for whatever reason, it saved certain phone numbers in the device memory and it's looking there instead of google contacts. This...

Contact Numbers Showing Instead of Names

Have you checked to make sure that all contacts on the phone are saved to your gmail account and not to the phone's local storage? I'm not certain how Samsung currently handles this across different versions of Android, but it used to be a frequent confusion with both contacts and calendars...

    Transferring photos TO my phone

Multiple ways to do this. You can use a USB cable between phone and PC and copy files. However, depending on the version of your PC's OS and whether it has the right driver for your phone and whether it needs phone-specific software, this may or may not be easy. If you use a free cloud...

Are android devices connected to each other?

No, they are not. Each has its own SIM card and unique cellular network connection. If you both connect to the same WiFi network, for example at home, there are various apps and tools you can use to help the phones "see" each other on the network, which could facilitate file sharing. But...

Something is wrong with the auto select time zone

Phones get time from the network. Without a sim card, there is no network. So the only time it knows is the time you manually set it to. And while you can set a time manually, the phone without a network has no idea what a Timezone even is, so there's no way it can adjust your calendar...
