Pixel 2 / Android 9 : What Does "Remove from Album" mean?

Thanks B. Diddy! I didn't know about the search ability so that is helpful (to the extent that Google AI and I agree on the significant objects in, and attributes of, my photos!). Using search I was able to find the photos and then find them when viewing the Pixel 2's files from my Windows PC...

Pixel 2 / Android 9 : What Does "Remove from Album" mean?

Thanks for your reply Rukbat but when I look at DCIM/Camera via my Windows PC (the only way I know to look at my Pixel 2's files) I see only two folders (".inflight" and ".inflight_lowres") and many individual files.

    Can't Transfer Files to PC

I don't know if I have exactly the same problem or not but certainly very similar. First of all this is a Pixel 2 w/ Android 9, Security patch level Oct. 5, 2018, build PPR2 181005.003 I connect my Pixel 2 to my Win10 laptop (as I have done many times before) to transfer some pictures. It's...

How do I set a custom ringtone on the Pixel 2?

Thank you both for sticking with me on this. The hex editor reveals that the original file name ("Theme Song to Peter Gunn") is embedded in the file. Strange but explains a lot. Thanks again for your assistance and perseverance. Bob

How do I set a custom ringtone on the Pixel 2?

Thank you Mr. Ambassador and GSDer. I should explain more fully because I am seeing something which really confuses me. Back on Oct. 7th (when I originally posted here) I had moved a file named "Peter GunnRT.mp3" to a RingTone folder on my Pixel2 but saw no such file in Settings. But I did...

How do I set a custom ringtone on the Pixel 2?

Not working for me on Android version 9. I got the mp3 copied from the pc into Android/Media/ringtones but it does not show up in the list of selectable ringtones in Settings>Sound>Phone ringtone. I have seen the other solutions but they all seem to require non-Google apps which require...

    Where Are My Albums?

Thanks very much for responding belodion. I've discovered my problem and therefore no longer need to post any screenshots. (The problem was that a screen which is scroll-able, and needs to be scrolled to bring albums into view, does't really, IMHO, indicate that it is scroll-able. So the...

Play.google.com thinks Skype is installed on my phone but it is not.

Thanks very much B. Diddy. Although I do not recall I probably used the website thru the browser. I might have even been using the browser on an iPad or Windows laptop. It think I have done that before to install other apps. But I tried the app on the phone and that worked fine. So Thanks...

Play.google.com thinks Skype is installed on my phone but it is not.

I tried to put Skype on my phone but there was some sort of Internet problem and it was never installed. As I recall I wasn't even able to download it. But now play.google.com thinks it is installed. What can I do to straighten this out? Thanks, Bob

Very Strange Phone Behavior - Is It Broken?

Thank you both. I have no new apps but I think that I got new versions of apps when I migrated my old Nexus to the new Pixel 2. I am thinking that if/when it happens again I will try to stop running apps one at a time. An app would have to be running to cause a problem, right? I guess that...

Very Strange Phone Behavior - Is It Broken?

Hi B. Diddy. Thanks for your interest. It's an unlocked Pixel 2 purchased from Google. I use it on AT&T. The problem seems to have gone away without my having done anything. I didn't reboot. And I don't know how to put it into Safe Mode. I don't know if cell phones can reboot themselves...

Very Strange Phone Behavior - Is It Broken?

Sorry for the vague title but I can't think of a succinct way to describe the strange behavior. First of all, in case it is relevant, I have turned off the "ambient" display of time and that worked fine for at least a day. But last night I noticed that my phone was taking a long time to wake...

    On Demand Now Playing

I'd like to use Now Playing occasionally. Not often enough to justify enablement of any always listening service. I can't find an icon for Now Playing. Is there any way to use it on demand (without enabling any always listening service)? Thanks, Bob

Where are ALL of the app icons?

True BLOOdRunzCOld. I guess I subconsciously associate YouTube with cat videos and it is not yet my instinct to turn there first. But you are right. I have found very useful self-help videos there. Bob
