is it possible to do a dirty flash of CM10.1.3 from MD4, or will i have to factory reset?

tried that, didn't work. i tried .tar, .zip, .rar, and .tar.md5 and nothing worked.

so, i used ADB to create a backup of my phone before taking it in to get a new one, because my three year old broke the screen pretty bad. i forgot to add a file extension to the end, so it saved as a "file" file. is there a way to convert the "file" file to a .zip or other open-able archive?

i have basebadn version MD4 and build number MB1, which one is the important number?

no, i mean, which one does it need? baseband or build?

does this require baseband MB1 or build number MB1?

will this factory reset as well, or just unroot? i've already had an issue with accidentally factory resetting my phone and don't want to take the chance again.
