Best Buy sold the Nexus S.

Will the Nexus S receive "Jelly Bean"?

No it won't. The ATT Nexus S did not even receive.

So, who then? Who can I get an update from without voiding my warranty?

Wow, that bit about the numbers is a lot like looking at the snow man and missing the avalanche. So, if it is unreasonable...how should a Nexus S user be expected to get an update to ICS? This is a glaring flaw in the system. This phone was sold by best buy, for the att network. Was there...

Well, you see, that differs from what Samsung says. Samsung says that google sends them the software, samsung makes alterations per device, and sends it to the carrier, who sends it out. This is the entire point...no one knows anything at all about android. There are ten versions of this...

Well Richard. Consider this thread your tip. Maybe you think I am being negative about android, or the phone...Maybe. But, the reality is the stuff is just fine. But, the facts are still these. 1. The Nexus S is part of the Nexus line. It is said it will get updates when they arrive. 2...

    Why No Coverage

It is about the whole chain being crappy. 1. Android Central has given not one keystroke to this. 2. Android is an operating system devoid of any support. 3. Google offers an operating system devoid of any support. 4. Samsung loads phones with an operating system devoid of support. ATT...

No, it does not have it. It is not on the list.

I am sure that your NS might have ICS. You might have put it on yourself for all I know. But, ATT has not done an OTA to ICS. Samsung cannot do an update to our phones. So, if you are a Nexus S user on ATT, you do not have ICS from anyone other than the internet, and rooting. Which voids...

    Goodbye Cruel World

Good for you. My crappy Nexus S experience is well documented. The idea of an unsupported device seems absurd to me. The failure of best buy and ATT to work together put me over the edge. I cannot wait for an iphone, and apple care, and the ability to seek help from a person.

    Why No Coverage

Why isn't this website, the leader in Android news, giving one second thought to the fact that the Nexus S, on any other network save for Sprint, has not gotten a ICS update? Isn't that a story? The fact that both Android, and Samsung and the carriers have not delivered the OS to the device...

I wanted to apologize for being negative

ATT checked my SIM. So, it was not that.

I wanted to apologize for being negative

I want to say I am sorry for being negative. This phone, and all that surrounds it have been an amazingly negative experience. No, let me correct that. I like the phone and android just fine. But, AtT, Samsung, Best Buy, and Android have been horrible. So, I am sorry. I was a dick. So my...

    Fragmentation at its Best

Sure. We can do it again. I bought a Nexus S from Best Buy. I am an ATT customer. ATT stated that they are not going to do an OTA to ICS. They also said that rooting the phone voids the warranty. The Nexus S was at one point the flagship phone. Said to get the next operating system before...

    Fragmentation at its Best

How will Google get access to my phone OTA? Samsung says that is not how it works. I think the Apple model, which many people think is the Android model as well, with the Google people having access to your device, is what is happening. But, it is not. Clearly they hand ICS to manufacturers...
