Have you tried turning off "Hide content" on the lock screen? Given that you have to manually open a new snapchat message to see it, it's not as though any content will be shown if you select show content for the lock screen.

This happened to me when I updated to Tizen 3.0. I ended up having to remove all of my cards from the watch and going through the process of adding them again. After doing that I started getting the reward points again.

I'm not sure about stock messaging app on Pixel, but I use Textra as the default on my S8+ and I am able to see the entire conversation.
