I've had some setup issues initially: long loading screen that lead to a power cycle when first plugged in; connect google account via pin didn't work, so had to type in u/p; Also have had at least one crash so far (was when I was doing voice search outside of all apps -- device just froze)...

Note that Plex currently requires a paid subscription (Plex Pass) for you to use their official app on the Nexus Player. Kodi/XBMC works good so far (a few bug reports on the Kodi Forums, but probably something they'll get resolved since it may be more of a Android 5.0 issue than a Nexus Player...

As someone noted on one of the other Android communities (Reddit Android maybe?), they're probably doing this mainly to avoid pirated-content apps, although I also buy the argument that this could make for a cleaner/better user experience. We'll just have to wait and see if Google has similar...
