Can the phone OS be rolled back to GB from ICS using an Apple computer or should it be done on a Windows PC?

How do you revert to the prior operating system? I want to return to the pre-ICS version because version 4.0.4 does not work correctly on this phone.

How do you clear the cache for the swype function to work?

Downloaded 4.0.4 this morning. Swype function for txt messaging no longer works. Apps won't update either. :'(
