I only have an eSIM on my phone; no physical SIM card. Regarding the codes, I had read someone stating that it only worked with the Google Dialer app, not the Samsung one. I installed that a while back, but it still didn't work. I was surprised that it did this time. Maybe rebooting the phone...

Ok, some follow up here. This hadn't worked before, but it did today: dialing *#*#4636#*#* brought in a phone info screen, which provides the ability to choose networks. What surprised me though is shown in the following screen capture - I had turned WiFi off, and my phone showed 5G, with maybe...

Now they're saying the request has been "submitted to their team" so apparently not tonight. So frustrating dealing with corporate america...

Forgive me, forgive me!!! :-) I'm actually on a chat now to get it unlocked, and it apparently will be possible to do now.

I actually did start a similar thread in the S24 section, but found this one on the same topic, so have participated here. But yes, quite odd. Maybe it will be coming...

That link that shows the 5G option present is Update # 15 for the S23 Ultra. I received Update # 3 for the S24 Ultra, just this morning, and even in the description, the 5G option is not mentioned. So it appears it hasn't been implemented yet for the S24 Ultra.

Curiouser and curiouser.... I've attached screenshots that show what I'm seeing now. I'm just not seeing it yet. I wonder if I have to have them unlock it to show up? If I'm being stupid and dense here, please show me where I'm going wrong, but it seems to be showing One UI Version 6.1, and...

Yeah, I don't have the patience to deal with all of that. But thanks for the info.

Mine shows SM-S928U, so actually neither of those! But I will call and see what I need to get it fully unlocked. And maybe then I can select 4G only when at home.

When I go to Mobile Networks...Network operators, I do see other providers listed (but no 5G specific options). Wouldn't this suggest that this phone is already unlocked? I'm using eSIM, with no physical SIM card at this time, if it's relevant. The phone was purchased directly from Samsung, as...

I just bought the phone a month or two ago, so upgrade is not an option. But if those options would in fact be available if Verizon unlocked it, then that is definitely something I can pursue with them. T-mobile has some coverage, and it does show up when I have it look for available networks...

Yes, that's similar to what I see, and different from those where there specific 5g labels to select or deselect. I dread another call to Verizon, especially because it's very unlikely they'll have anything useful to say or do.

Well, I'm already on 6.1, and don't see this option available. It appears that this may not apply to Verizon phones, unless I'm not looking in the right place. I believe this has been discussed elsewhere, where it is present for other carriers, but not Verizon. I hope I'm wrong...

That would seem to be the case, and yes I have tried that. But the thing is, I still experience occasional missed dropped or dropped calls, even when using WiFi calling. I am still fighting this battle, and experienced a dropped call just 2 days ago, while I was connected to the Network...
