Batteries have a finite number of charge cycles - so this reduces the chance of having to open up and replace the battery also.

I can assure you I am serious.. I can enable any feature I want at anytime and then turn it off after ... defrost in titanium - may look into using greenify instead though. The number 1 function is the phone for me - sometimes I'm not in a situation where I can hook up to charge for days ;)

CM 10.1.2 with all the usual battery saving tips - no sync - 2g - wifi only when you need it - froze loads of google & apps in titanium - using undervolted franco's kernel. I think this is a good battery life ;)

A calendar is required to run constantly, even when the phone is off !!! Battery life is a massive problem with smart phones so I would not consider having 2 resource hungry apps doing the same thing. We all need the max battery life possible - you just might need it in an emergency

Ok - Here is some info that I thought I should share for the community I set up a gmail account with a calendar -just to get the calendar working - with the intention of, once it was working, to disable the sync and sever the link with google knowing all my life's activities. I got the calendar...

Yep - I think in the end I'll probably do just that, thanks Treknologist - at the mo tho I'm happy enough, I'll just use alarms to alert me of events until I really need the calendar feature - everything else is working spot on !

Ok thanks for the suggestions - Everything is synched up but there is no calendar available in the menu of sync items which leads me to believe that you do have to have a gmail account in order to have a calendar that is sync able. [ as Treknologist first suggested] I would like to say though...
