Sorry, I don't have an answer, but wanted to say I am having the same issue. I also use Handcent. The only time I receive duplicates is when the text is from someone not in my contacts or a spammer. Both texts appear in Handcent- not 1 in Handcent and 1 in the stock messaging app.:confused:

I had the same problem for the first couple days after it was released. Called Verizon and the rep had me do a battery pull. 1st try after doing this it loaded with no problems. Forgive me for not reading earlier in the post to see if you have tried this. Since the update, I have had no restarts...

If he did, he didn't relay it to me. He just had me go into Wireless and Networks and make sure I had Mobile Network connected, which for some reason was showing not connected eventhough I had been on it all day. That's when I did the battery pull, restarted phone and everything went smooth. So...

Just got off the phone with VZW. Rep had me do a battery pull. I restarted and everything worked fine. Got the update on the first try and it installed perfectly.

I've been trying since Friday at 8PM and have never been able to connect. Seen reports that people are having success if they switch to CDMA only to connect. I tried that also to no avail. Ridiculous....:mad:
