Problem was solved after setting up WIFI connections and allowing GMAIL and SAMSUNG ACCOUNTS to SYNC. Also remember to go to SETTINGS under CONTACTS and set CONTACTS to DISPLAY <> ALL

Thank you B. Diddy The contacts are slowly appearing after sync with Google. I also get a whole host of UNKNOWN NAME contacts!! What are these I wonder?? Should I delete them???

Did not work with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge!!! I will have to update contacts from my backup file. I also have MyBackUp Pro but that will not RESTORE from old file!! Very frustrating to say the least!!

Problem resolved after removing DU BATTERY SAVER AND CCLEANER. I don't have CM. After that I was also able to allow WhatsApp to access my contacts and now instead of numbers I have names. Credit goes to a guy who posted the info on utube

Problem resolved after I removed DU Battery Saver. I also removed CCleaner. I was also able to allow access to CONTACTS on Whatsapp and now I have names instead of numbers. Credit goes to the guy who gave the info on utube.
