    It's an iPhone thing. I got around it by attaching the picture to the message, then typing something in the same message. For some reason, that works.

    Are you trying to avoid showing up on someone else's phone in whatsapp? I don't believe that's possible if you're in their contacts. You can go to contacts in whatsapp and block them if you don't want them making contact with you though.

    Stop syncing EVERYTHING!!

    Open chrome. Go to settings. Find the section in Accounts that let's you adjust sync. You can turn it off completely, or just allow it to sync certain things like bookmarks and passwords.
