I've had this problem for months at least, but it finally became annoying enough that I decided to ask about it. when I tap or swipe the answer or hang up icon, the icon flickers or something (this is nighttime now and I don't remember the precise details), but it doesn't do the operation...

I've swiped in all directions and nothing works. I've even talked to an iphone user with the same problem. I'll try safe mode if I can get there fast enough to answer a call. Thanks.

Swipe up only shows currently running apps. Finally found complex and difficult process mostly involving Settings. Finally I have an icon at bottom of home screen for app drawer. Thanks you to all who responded.

Tracked it down. I need to go to apps in settings first, then check my settings. How in the world do my settings get turned off without my action or permission. It has happened twice now, and it has to STOP.
