Well I already rolled back to stock ZVD, then went through All the steps here. Looks like its all good again, now on ZVJ with root. AND I had an issue where the phone thought I had headphones plugged in all the time, I know it was not a short in the port, tried wiping flashing other ROMs etc...

It didn't really kill root, more that is just disables the current root permissions until you re-run the root step from the PC, but it does not remove it in the sense that you cannot re-root very easily.

I just moved all of my apps to the sd partition and it works perfectly fine. I did use titanium backup to move the apps since I am rooted, but I don't know if root is necessary in order to move apps to sd or not but it certainly seems to work fine once they are moved.
