Cheers guys, I think you have confirmed my suspicions. The reason I moved from Three mobile to 02 was that without 2G on Three, when the signal was low the ability to make a voice call wasn't there. Also the higher frequency that Three use restrict it's ability to penetrate walls.

No, I wasn't implying that it was just the 02 carrier but as Three mobile didn't use 2G I thought it might be dropping to 2G when the signal was low as that was the only difference between the two.

As B. Diddy said, holding the power button down for some time is well worth trying, another option is to hold the power button down + the volume down or sometimes up at the same time for a minute, this has worked on some Samsung devices. Good luck. PS. Try these options with the charger connected.
