I was trying to star a contact. But instead of a star, I get a weird icon instead. Anyone know what that is?

Wow that did it! I don't know how long that fix will last but at least I know what to do if this keeps happening. When I tried to allow or block under notifications, I couldn't because all it said was "no notifications." So by notifications, they actually mean those annoying ads or websites...

Ok I did that and the ads definitely decreased. However, I still got a pop up website that showed up and it was easy to get rid of. Strange because when I go to the website on my computer, the pop up website (or ad) disappear automatically on its own because I have adblock plus installed on...

I installed an ad blocker in the Samsung Browser and it's still not blocking ads. I was doing better with the free ad blocker, that did block all ads. So I still need to find out how to update it.
