Do you have the 'thread' button on the bottom-right? This shows a conversation-style email thread. Not sure if thats what you're looking for, but I think thats the closest to a 'thread' style you can get with the stock email app.

Its a really neat attempt at something other than Touchwiz. I used it for a couple days and really enjoyed it, but I'll wait until they polish it a little more before using it full time.

How about the loss of the 'recent apps' selection from the split window? That is the biggest thing missing to me.

Updated to Marshmallow on Verizon a couple days ago - so far so good, except split window doesn't seem to work as well as it used to? If I have a bunch of chrome tabs open, for instance, and I move one tab to split mode I no longer see the list of open apps and tabs to move to the lower split...
