In my case i wasnt using a launcher, i was using the native Android OS (version 9 in the old one i think, 11 in the s21), i used the samsung UI to restore but no groups came along.

I didnt see a group for the s21.. I ran a samsung and google apps restore on the new s21, however, all of my (many) groups didnt restore from the old phone. Has anyone ran into this and know of a fix? Or maybe a way to grab them and send them accross? Thanks in advance

Mine is the samsung s8. I do notice in the "samsung" cloud backup area it does list "home screen" but not sure if that keeps the groups.

I've not done the odin method in forever, i cant recall but does it wipe existing data doing it this way? I'm assuming i'd have to track down the actual update files somewhere first, connect the phone and run it?

I finally tried this and its saying the latest version is already installed with RB1 (att) and android 7 for some reason.

Thanks for the reply. I thought smart switch was only for transferring content? It can pull down the latest firmware/OS version as well? Our phones are "unlocked" s8's in our case (on att prepaid).
