Voice Dialing with Blueant Q2 and Captivate

I just bought the Motorola FINITI bluetooth, which tauted it's text-to-voice and voice-to-text capabilities. Turns out, those only work on Froyo-upgraded Captivates. You may have a similar problem. Also, some of the feature on my headset only work intermittently, so I have to frequently unpair...

I cannot Pair My bluetooth with Captivate

Go to the store that sold you the bluetooth, and stand there while they make pairing work to your phone. That's what I did this week with my first bluetooth headset. If they can't pair bluetooth with your phone, you prolly won't be able too, and you should get the store to sell you one that will...

the currently connected phone does not support text messaging via bluetooth

Re: the currently connected phone does not support text messaging I just bought a high-end Motorola bluetooth that claimed to have text-to-voice and voice-to-test (for hands-free replies to texts) via the MotoSpeak app, but ... now discover that capability is only available with Froyo 2.2 ...

    update?

I'm a bit irritated that the Galaxy Tablet is out with the 2.2 OS through AT&T and that Google Nexus S is out with Gingerbread, so now the Captivate is 2 versions behind the latest formally released version. Does anyone have any reliable news from a good AT&T source about Captivate update to FroYo?

    WiFi Versus 3G

Text and voice are not transmitted via 3G or WiFi (acc to AT&T in-store staff), so just turn on WiFi when you have it (that action turns off 3G - AT&T guy said this too), and turn 3G on if/when you need it.

    Keyboards

Select the Android keyboard - you'll see the microphone key beside the space bar. I find i great for texts and emails because I'm a slow typist.

Notification LED now available for Captivate

My results: with all 4 lights showing when I went to bed, the battery level went from 97% to 47% in ~8 hours last night. But .... reality check ... during the day, for most people, the LED notification light(s) will only be one for the short period when users are away from their phone: this is...

Notification LED now available for Captivate

There was a complaint posted late last night on the developers' site that it drains the battery. I plan to test it myself tonight by sending one of each type of communication to myself before going to bed, checking battery level, and then leaving it off the charger overnight.

Notification LED now available for Captivate

I've been watching a developers thread: Captivate Themes and Apps - xda-developers Tonight, a post said the notification LED is on the market for Captivate... [App] NoLED - Use the AMOLED screen for incoming notifications (Crosspost from I9000) - Page 5 - xda-developers Search the Market for...

do you know for sure the wall charger is not defective? I had a RAZR charger that went bad (bad connection in the phone-end fitting).

    Which keyboard

looks like few are using the voice-to-text function on the android kbd. I guess we're all being responsible and not texting while driving (the main use i can imagine for v-t-t).

Anyone know how to stop "Battery Full" message?

Mine do not stay on either. After either timing out by itself or after I touch the on-off button to turn off the screen, it stays off all night. I only know charging is complete when I wake up the screen.

    Which keyboard

I'm trying to decide between Android and Swype. I really like the voice to text option on the Android - maybe eventually I'll use that for long texts and the swype for quick ones? Also, Swype seems to offer extra alternate symbols - don't know if they'll be useful to many people though. BTW, I...
