N7 4.3 update and autorotate stopped working.

Weirdest thing. I left it overnight on the cradle (still in portrait) and this morning it's autorotating properly. Very strange.

N7 4.3 update and autorotate stopped working.

Got the new update. No install issues. Autorotate is turned on in settings but it won't rotate into landscape mode. It will flip 180 not not 90 or 270 degrees. Any ideas?

Omg...why does android Os drain 35% of the battery?

They don't seem to run though, which was my point.

    USB PC connection stopped working

Guess I forgot to say, the same cable used to work with the N7. But, I gave it a shot anyway and no joy.

    USB PC connection stopped working

Hmm, I use the USB cable to transfer files between my android devices and a PC. Some time in the last month or two, it stopped working on my N7. (I haven't used that feature lately) Windows 7 doesn't show the connection when I plug the N7 in via USB. Same PC and cable works with my Droid Razr...

Omg...why does android Os drain 35% of the battery?

Sorry but you are confused about how operating systems work. Android doesn't "run" - apps run, tasks run, processes run, threads run. The android consumption is on behalf of some app that's running. android "idling" would not chew up 35%. that's not normal. Find the app. Sigh, so sure of...

Omg...why does android Os drain 35% of the battery?

Still, android system using 1/3 of consumed power of the device means something is happening to draw that power. I typically see smaller percentages going to the system. You probably have some background apps going that are making lots of system calls. I'd look to see what's running and check...

    N7 dock impressions

So I got my N7 dock (ordered on Sunday, arrived Weds). Overall, it feels nice. Weighted enough so it is stable with the N7 in it. pogo pins mate up easily. Charges the N7 just fine assuming you have a decent charger plugged in. Pretty well made. The N7 drops into daydream mode when you...

    Replacement charger (UK)?

The charger (technically, it's just a power supply) that ships with the N7 is a 2Amp 5V device. So any USB charger, er, supply that can deliver 2A should work fine for you. You could get by in a pinch with a 1Amp charger which is typical for a phone charger but expect the recharging to take...

I don't recall seeing anything about a promotion. Did you use two different accounts?

Device won't recharge after being abandoned for a few months

If it's under warrantee, he's right. otherwise, there are some good thoughts. What I suspect has happened the battery has self discharged below the lower voltage limit so the charging circuit thinks the battery has died and is refusing to recharge it. You could refurbish it but you'd have...

    N7 dock is shipping...

They had previously been listed at 39.99 which I felt was kind of steep. At 29.99, it reached my level of pain so I ordered one. They should really be $20 or less since there is about $1.50 worth of material in them. (OK, for the nit pickers, I have no idea how much cost is in it but it's...

    Nexus 7 as a GPS

I've used my N7 with google maps/nav in a car a number of times. If you have a smart phone you can put a wifi hotspot on it (I use foxfi but there are plenty others) and then the data connection issue for the wifi only versions of N7 is moot. I also download a map for the area where I am...

Battery problems, Is it bad to run the Nexus down all the way to zero?

I believe that study refers to keeping 4.2V supplied to the +terminal of the LiPo. I am pretty sure that the charge manager deals with that and disconnects it when terminal voltage is reached. All batteries will self discharge and I presume the charge manager will kick in to top it off when...
