I use a third party application called ExDialer for my dialer. It's pretty nice and quick. You can change the theme also. I recommend you giving it a try if you don't like your stock dialer.

Y'all should give the new SwiftKey Beta a try, if y'all haven't look into it. They are doing this compact keyboard (good for one hand) and split thumb keyboard on the beta. There are still some issues, but so far it's doing pretty well, go to their website and try it out.

I'm a super-heavy user myself, but when I saw that I got 7 hours of screen time (with 5% left) needless to say, I've never seen a screen time of over 7 hours in my life. I am very happy with its battery life.
It's nice to look at PowerPoint slides while I'm in class and actually able to jot down some notes on each slide is pretty awesome.

Rooting your phone is like giving the user all the control to modify your phone in any way you want. I'm guessing you don't have any experience with the rooting methods, so I don't recommend you doing any of it yourself. (Rooting your phone will void your warranty)

I don't think there is anyway to do it other than rooting your phone and actually using an called Market Enabler. I still don't know if that still works or not, though.
For non-rooted users, I recommend Dolphin browser. It's filled with features. Though, since I'm a rooted user, I'm currently using the AOSP browser. But like I said, you need to be rooted to use the browser.

I'm waiting for the new one to be announced first. But I am interested getting a Nexus 7 for sure. If I'm not mistaken, the new one would be any where from $20-$40 more expensive, right? It's still cheaper than the iPad Mini. If it has some respectable specs then I won't have to wait for the...
All I can tell you is i9505 is an international version of S4 that support LTE. Now, I don't know what LTE frequencies AT&T and T-Mobile uses. You will have to ask them about that. As far as which bands the i9505 can handle are: Band 1 (2,100MHz) / Band 3 (1,800MHz) / Band 5 (850MHz) / Band 7...
You can always go the Amazon route or you can check out Negri Electronics. I believe this website is where most of the phone reviewers get their phones that are not going to be released in the States. I believe their phones are all unlocked too.
