I Swear to God. Only Me.

I'll make it 3 in a row, this makes no sense at all. Sounds like Verizon Engineer double talk, and I am not an engineer of any sort to know this sounds like "Engineering Quackery".

    T-Mobile update contains malware!!!

Maybe a stiff drink is in order. My point was, personally I have stopped having "heart attacks" over issues like this one, others will choose to take it to the Supreme Court which of course is their prerogative.

    T-Mobile update contains malware!!!

Agreed, I am not a fan of Nexus phones either. I will say in years past I would be up in arms over something like this, now I just go with the flow. I did just check to see if I had "DTignite" on my LG3, and sure enough it is installed; All I did was "disable". Again though, you will have to...

    T-Mobile update contains malware!!!

This is just another tool for the Carriers to generate revenue. If it is a real annoyance then the solution is real simple; Do not buy carrier subsidized phones, instead opt for the Nexus Line. If you opt for the "carrier subsidizes phones" then you are at the mercy of their revenue generating...

Hold both down. If someone else here is on ATT and knows if it is different than Verizon, please chime in.

What carrier are you with? It should be the same for all LG3 phones as far as I know.

    anti virus

I would not consider "popups" a virus nor malware. They are ads, that the developer has chosen to include in their app , however annoying and deceptive it may be. If you read the reviews on the Playstore before downloading they usually will indicate as much. Also, in your reference to android...

No not the same. A factory reset is always a last resort. That is why I am suggesting the above. You will not lose any data, settings, or info. It clears out any errors and or glitches in OS and or Apps that are hung up somehow.

    1. Take your battery out, then reinsert. 2. Clear cache: Power phone off then>Hold power button & volume down until it powers up>You will be at the System recovery screen> select "wipe cache" Do the above 2 in order. Sometimes a rogue app or a system glitch causes this, by doing the above...

Two weeks in and thinking about returning

To take a screen shot: Hold power button & volume down simultaneous. Just for comparison my system is: Screen: 51% Android OS: 15% Android System: 3% If you click on "Android OS" it should also give you "Awake" time & "CPU" With all that said, I get through the day on a full charge. What is...

Have you tried ruling out the battery? The Store you purchased the phone at might be willing to swap out battery for another one. Also, when you say the "Culprit is the Android OS" what is the usage percentage for it? ***Can you post screenshots of your battery use.

    Back Cover: "Pitting"

Upon further thought, I think Hulk might have hit the nail on the head. I spend a lot of time at the beach, and even though I did not see any sand when I took the case off, I suspect this might be the cause of my pitting issue (sand).

    Back Cover: "Pitting"

So I took off my phone case to change the battery and clean my phone and noticed the back cover is showing signs of "Pitting" in several areas. They are very small, but nonetheless it is pitting😯 I would take a photo, but doubt you will be able to see. Anyone else notice signs of this?

    strange popups

Try this : Settings > accounts > Google > privacy >ads > opt out of interest based ads "Check the box" **Most likely it is an app that you recently downloaded or live wallpaper.
