Answered my own question by reading backwards from the last page in this thread. I installed EL30 (thanks Paul) and then was able to do an OTA upgrade to current Android version. All is good.. Now I can store this phone and activate my Galaxy S3 that just came today. I wanted to factory...

I installed Truly Epic Rebirth 1.5, after converting my fs to ext4. Now I want to factory restore and then do an OTA update to whatever is current on Sprint's network. Do I want to flash back to Eclair? Which restore procedure should I be using for this? Thanks in advance.

Update... I just tried it again, and tinkered with the spare parts animation/transition settings and the rotation lag is gone. I wish I had tried BEFORE re-adjusting the spare parts settings. I am pretty sure I tried every combination before I posted here (there are only a few combinations)...

Thanks for the reply Paul, I did that exact method and it didn't speed it up (it was working before anyway, just slowly) I'm not using a custom launcher except that came with TER 1.5 (I think it's AMLauncher. I adjusted the animation settings in spare parts and that didn't help either.

I read a post in this thread a while back about somebody with rotation that was working but was very slow, like 2-3 seconds. That is happening to me, as I just now upgraded from TER 1.2 to TER 1.5... Anyhow, the calibsensorutil_yamaha didn't make a change (it was already working and it did not...

I am not sure if it is just Astro but I kind of doubt it. I was just browsing the filesystem on the SD card and found a .Trash-1000 folder, with the exact same sub-directory format as is in my desktop Linux (Debian)... So, I assume they are both using some hook provided with the filesystem...

Thanks... I'm talking about files that I deleted with Astro. They are still on the card, in trash. Instead of waiting for the system to determine that the file space is needed, I want to permanently delete them from my card. I could stick the card in my PC and do it that way, but there's got...

I'm not talking about email or any app-specific trash. I mean if I delete a file from my Android device, how can I purge it from the trash (as in Windows/Mac Recycle Bin or Linux Trash Can)? Thanks

I will... should I use a tool like Clockwork to format the SD card, or just plug it into my pc for mass storage and format it that way? Also, when I converted my FS to ext4, using your tutorial, I assumed that was just the main system memory. Is it also the SD card? I realize now I have not...

Can you comment on the odds that I might encounter issues that I had to fix after installing TER 1.2? (GPS, screen rotation)... Both of things I fixed with the help of Ragnarokx's guides, and just wondering if you think I might have to re-fix them after installing ACE.

Thank you Yep, worked great for me too. Thanks. I like to ask first because I don't like installing a lot of software but the package you mention seems to work well at my first test. Was able to connect securely with my laptop and use the phone's Internet connection.

Is that baked into the ROM, or something I need to install. Do I need to download Wireless Tether, or is it a core feature of Android/TrulyEpic. UPDATE: If it is an app I need to download from the market, what is its exact name? tks again Thanks

Option 4 worked for me... ... and I did not lose root, or anything else. I remained on TrulyEpic and all was well, with the exception of a working GPS... At least that is my experience.

@Mobius360 -- What is the application you are using to show your GPS accuracy? I have installed GPS status, as per one of the other suggested fixes (to reset GPS), and I don't think that is one of the screens from the GPS Status app. Thanks
