[ROM] TrulyEpic Rebirth v1.5 AC - no planned EB13 update :'(

Don't use ROM Manager - get comfortable with working directly in Clockwork. Sure the GUI isn't as pretty, but you will greatly minimize potential problems by skipping the ROM Manager middleman. The only thing I use ROM Manager for is deleting old backups.

Clockwork is the only game in Epictown as of now.

Quick question?? When changing ROM's are you able to flash multiple zip files without having to reboot the phone after every zip file??

I did this when i flashed TER first, and no problems.
Though paul mentions that for safe sakes, flash then restart, let it bootup, then restart into clockworks then flash the next zip, then restart/bootup, then restart back to CW ect..

Ahhh ok that's what I thought...just to be safe I will just apply an update and reboot the phone everytime noo big deal...

Hey guys if you don't like the MMS and think it's ugly, use chompsms. You can customize EVERYTHING. Literally it is one amazing app. You can change all colors, all fonts, sizes, everything.

You can do multiple flashes at once, its just easier if you have a problem to trouble shoot what went wrong if you knew exactly what you flashed instead of which one out of 5... No big deal.

tun.ko for TrulyEpic Rebirth

First, thanks to ragnarokx for this fantastic rom. I just jumped ship from my old WM6.5 Touch Pro to the Epic last week, and it with this rom are just so much better to use.

On to my question: is there somewhere I can get a tun.ko file that will work with this rom? I would like to install the get-a-robot-vpnc Cisco VPN package, but it requires tun.ko to work.

Thanks!
Aaron T.

I did dig up some older articles about this over at XDA forums. People were having a lot of trouble getting it to work. I'm not sure if they ever came up with a good installation for this, I will let Ragnarokx follow threw on this but from what I saw in different posts in wasn't a "easy" install by any means. It involved some editing of system files to get it working and even then only a few claimed to have it working to an extent.

I would make a backup of at least your data with MyBackUp and then wipe 3x in CWM and flash TER again. That would be a good starting point that doesn't take very long before you go starting back at stock.

Going all the way back to 2.1 and starting over would be my absolute last resort. I'd reflash TER to see if it might help. If not, I'd probably just reflash the rom after clearing data/factory restore, clear cache, advanced>clear dalvik cache. I normally do each at least twice to make sure. Then right after I'd flash the TER. After using the older TER for about a month I also got strange problems after flashing the new TER.

Thanks guys...I wiped and re-flashed TER and all is working well again except for the battery life. Not sure if it makes a difference or not but this time I rebooted between flashing each of the add-ons.

I can't get tethering to work... Anyone else having that issue?

Are you talking about the tethering thats part of the Sprint Stock Apps, or a 3rd Party tethering app?

I've been using Barnacle Tether Legacy alongside this ROM and so far its running great.

I finally ran into the GPS problem people have been discussing on the forum. I lock on quick, but lose GPS signal every once in a while. I've performed fix #4 from the recommend site since this seemed to be the one favored in this forum. Hopefully this will fix it.

No I was referring to the old "wireless Tether: 2.0.5-pre8.....

I'll try Barnacle, thanks!

There was a thread about that here. I've heard of no progress since unfortunately.

I'm using Wireless Tether v2.0.5-RC1 and it works great.

Hmmmm well I does it even work with the new clockwork mod 3.0.0.5 though??

OOOO well from what it says, it is because the developer hasn't been set up for OTA updates soo idk...I guess I have to ask for my money back but I doubt that will happen... :(

I just flashed to TER last week using the excellent instructions from the first post. Everything went perfectly as far as I can tell and the Epic worked just fine. However, something seems to have changed yesterday. The ringtones, apps such as Pandora and even the system 'clicks' now only play through the earpiece on the phone (not bluetooth) instead of through the speaker on the back. As a result, it's very hard to hear my phone ring when its in my pocket and movies, videos, music etc. are all hard to hear as well. Has this happened to anyone else and is there a fix? TIA

Is that baked into the ROM, or something I need to install.

I'm using Wireless Tether v2.0.5-RC1 and it works great.

Do I need to download Wireless Tether, or is it a core feature of Android/TrulyEpic.

UPDATE: If it is an app I need to download from the market, what is its exact name? tks again

Thanks
